RALEIGH--The Occupy Raleigh Movement is celebrated its one year anniversary with a rally at the State Capitol on Saturday.
The group met for the first time at the Capitol on October 15, 2011 to protest what they call “economic injustices and corporate influence on elections.”
Occupy Raleigh demonstrated for several weeks and more than 20 people were arrested for refusing to leave the grounds after the rally.
Saturday's event was held from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the State Capitol.
They also collected food, blankets and coats for the central and eastern North Carolina Food Bank.
