WILSON—Many Wilson residents are saying they are not surprised the mall won't be around much longer.
The mall housed mostly vacant stores so the owners plan to knock it down leaving only JC Penny, Roses, the Dollar Tree, K&W Cafeteria and the Movie Theater.
Mall-walkers say they're heartbroken and not sure where to go to get their exercise.
“All towns need a mall and we come every day we walk every day two-three times a day we shop here we have a lot of friends that work here and we just always love the mall,” said Wilson resident Rachel Kelly.
Owners say they will work with the existing stores to make sure they have enough time to re-locate. Demolition will begin some time next year.
