RALEIGH -- Raleigh resident Francis Coleman doesn't like what he's seeing at the pump.

"Give me a couple gallons and let me push to the next level. It's going up, it's going down, we can't control it. We got to deal with it there's nothing else we can do," said Coleman.

Gas prices rising 30 cents in the last month has drivers sharing Coleman's frustration.

The price of gas varies all over the Tar Heel state. One gas station may be selling a gallon of regular for $3.66, whereas in some places you could find gas for as high as $3.78 a gallon.

But there's even worse news.

Drivers should expect to pay more at the pump this week because of the weather. Isaac's path along the Gulf coast has led to oil refineries in that area being shut down. It's a shut down that will keep supply tight across the country.

"There's a lag time. It could be this weekend and then the next following week or so as we get everything back up and online like it should be," said NC Petroleum Marketers Association Executive Director Gary Harris.

Harris says it's too early to predict how much the price will increase. And with the long weekend approaching, the timing couldn't be worse for those planning to hit the road.
