MIAMI -- Storm warnings are in effect for parts of the Caribbean as Tropical Storm Isaac threatens Puerto Rico the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba.

The National Hurricane Center says Isaac is expected to strengthen into a hurricane later this week. It's too soon to say what path the storm will take or if it will affect the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. next week.
