HIGH POINT — Athletes from around the Tar Heel state are set to be the focus of cutting edge research at a brand new biomechanics lab at High Point University.
Construction is under way, with a grand opening set for mid-September. Inside, students will receive a hands-on learning experience while researching athletes' movement in extreme detail.
"Having an impact at that level and the prevention of injury saves money, heartache for athletes and coaches, and saves time,” said chairman of the Physical Therapy Department at High Point University Eric Hegedis.
Once the new lab opens, it will be open to the public. Researchers are hoping to bring in athletes from around the state.
