CARY, N.C. – Red light cameras in Cary could be going away. Members of the town council will consider a recommendation Thursday to discontinue the Safelight Redlight program.
The full council could act on the plan in the next few weeks.
Town staff recommended removing the 15 cameras after concerns about costs and accuracy.
Cary is one of only four cities in North Carolina using red light cameras.
