BENSON, N.C. — The identity of the man who drowned in Tucker Lake in Johnston County Monday afternoon has been released.

Investigators say Clifford Lee, 24, of Fayetteville was in the water with his fiance and neither of them could swim very well. Authorities say the woman made it back to shore.

Rescuers pulled Lee's body out of the water and took him to Johnston Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
