GREENVILLE, N.C.--The father who shot and killed his 3-year-old son and then turned the gun on himself, died. Officials say 34-year-old Carey Adams Jr. died Sunday at Vidant Medical Center.
The Daily Reflector of Greenville reports the incident happened on Wiley Gaskins Road in Grifton Friday night.
Reports say Adams Jr. called his estranged wife prior to the shooting to tell her he was going to do it.
The toddler, Jesse Adams died at Vidant Medical Center on Saturday.
