CARY — The Wake County School Board is still working to accommodate parents registering their children for the upcoming school year.

The lines that were once out the door have died down since earlier this week. School officials say a failure in the state's school registration website along with year-round school starting this week caused many of the delays.

Meanwhile several parents feel this situation mixed with the school district's new "choice plan" has left them frustrated. Some are still looking to transfer to a new school before the traditional calender begins in august.

"It's tough with two kids and two different bell schedules. The expense on the family of hiring day care at 2:30 in the afternoon. I'm here for a better option for our family and our son as he attends seventh grade," said parent Ron Carter.

School officials ask that parents print and fill out the required paperwork in advance to help speed up registration.
