RALEIGH--The Triangle area has officially broken a heat record.

Sunday was the sixth consecutive day of temperatures at or above 100 degrees.

The previous record was five straight days of triple-digit heat.

Another heat record was tied Sunday for the all-time record high of 105 degrees.
