RALEIGH -- Tornado victims in Raleigh have one comfort this weekend-- hot food. The Interfaith food shuttle is providing 1,000 hot meals per day between Thursday and Saturday.

Volunteers have chipped in at the operations warehouse and in serving the food. Interfaith regularly delivers food to 212 organizations throughout the Triangle, but this weekend's effort is on top of their normal output.

Ken Nelson is one of many tornado victims who came to the Raleigh Girls Club, where Interfaith was serving.

"Even though the weather is miserable, they're out here doing it. And I really do appreciate it. I love that they are showing affection for their fellow humans," said Nelson.

Interfaith will be serving lunch this Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. at Helping Hand Rescue Mission and at Noon at the Raleigh Girls Club.
