CHARLOTTE – A march will be held Thursday afternoon on the square in uptown Charlotte for a pregnant woman who was shot and killed last week.
Police say Antonio Phifer threatened 21-year-old Yumeka Caldwell over the phone, then broke down her door and shot her to death Friday before killing himself. Phifer has prior arrests for abusing women, and police say the couple had a history of domestic violence.
The Domestic Violence Advisory Council is organizing the march at Trade Street and Tryon Street. It starts at 12:15 p.m.
