CHARLOTTE -- Student assignments for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be sent home next week. The notifications will be sent to all current students. Also, magnet lottery applications can be submitted online from Jan. 6 through Feb. 13.

The district is offering nine magnet programs at 37 schools for the 2012-2013 school year. Students must meet eligibility requirements, if any, before an application to a program can be accepted.

CMS will host a magnet fair on Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology.
