CARY, N.C. – The Wake County Board of Education continues to look at options for its new student assignment plan. On Tuesday, the board was briefed by the task force on feedback they've received from the public.
One option the board is looking at in redistricting would give students the choice of staying at their current school and only move kindergarten students.
"We've merged sort of the best of the original blue and green plans and tried to put forward and just work on a single student assignment plan and so that's where we're at now is trying to craft a single student assignment plan for the district,” said Susan Pullium, of the Student Assignment Task Force.
The task force will hold its next community meeting Wednesday at Apex High School and then Thursday at Southeast Raleigh High School.
The board could be presented with a redistricting plan in October.
