RALEIGH – Governor Bev Perdue continues to speak out against education cuts in the state spending plan. She answered questions from reporters about the budget Wednesday while she toured Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School.

Perdue says she remains concerned about the effect of cutting important educational resources.

"You see that I am angry, not even angry. I don't have the word, just totally disappointed. There appears to be a moving away from what's important... teachers and the greater universities. This is generational damage.”

Tuesday, the North Carolina Association of Educators "One Voice" rally held a protest against cuts to education.

The group says the state has already lost 15,000 jobs in public education over the past two years and more would hurt North Carolina.
