CHARLOTTE – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will receive more than $18 million in Race to the Top funding.
The state learned last fall it would receive $400 million. CMS just recently learned its share, which is $57,000 more than expected.
The district must use the money to improve standards and assessments, recruit effective teachers and administrators, improve technology and increase innovative schools.
