RALEIGH – The Wake County School Board met Tuesday to discuss a plan that would move thousands of students to different schools next fall.
The board now has a finalized list of student assignment changes for next year. It does not include the previously discussed thousands of students in Southeast Raleigh. That number stands at less than 200 right now. The county does not have a total number of impacted students yet but will post the reassignment recommendations online by Wednesday afternoon.
The school system will also send letters to all families who could be affected by the reassignment recommendations.
The public will have a chance to speak out about the reassignment proposal during a series of public hearings in the next few weeks.
