FRISCO, N.C. – A body found last weekend in the Outer Banks was identified Monday as that of a missing Ohio woman.
The body of Lynn Jackenheimer was found Saturday in Frisco, but at the time, the Dare County Sheriff's Office said it could not determine if it was a man or woman.
The site is about 20 to 30 miles from where Jackenheimer was last seen July 3. She was vacationing in Salvo with her two children and her boyfriend, Nate Summerfield.
Authorities say Summerifeld dropped the kids off in Ohio and told his brother he strangeld Jackenheimer. Summerfield is being called a person of interest in the case.
Jackenheimer was reported missing when she didn't return home from vacation. So far, the cause of death has not yet been determined.
Tuesday, Dare County officials will hold a press conference at 3:30 p.m. Watch it live here.
