FORT BRAGG -- A Fort Bragg-based Green Beret died in Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Brandon Pepper, 31, of Pennsylvania was killed in an insurgent attack on July 21 in Ghanzi Province.

Pepper was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group. He leaves behind a wife, brother and parents.
