DURHAM -- A conference at Duke University is hoping to show people how to use business to make a change in the environment. The annual Sustainable Business and Social Impact Conference was held Wednesday.
This year's event featured workshops on everything from healthy cities of the future to sustainability in the military. Organizers say they are hoping to bridge the gap between nonprofits and corporations to create new opportunities for change.
"The goal is to educate and inspire students and professionals to use their career to create a change," said MBA student Beth Bafford. "Whether it be in sustainability, social impact and industry or function, just understand the ways you can make an impact through your work."
The conference is put on by the Net Impact Club at the Fuqua School of Business.
