RALEIGH -- Lottery players will have more time to try their luck in the education lottery's raffle for $1 million.
Tuesday, lottery officials announced the Cash Splash Millionaire Raffle has been extended. It was due to end Wednesday but now the drawing won't be held until Monday, September 20 at 4:30 p.m.
Officials hope the extra time will allow sluggish sales to pick up even though tickets are expensive.
"We're looking at the $20 ticket price for the raffle and that's probably a tough sell with the economy the way it is. And... so we're hoping that this will give a little more time for people to look at that and see the odds of winning $1 million,” said Van Denton, NC Lottery Director of Communications.
The raffle guarantees that three players will take home $1 million each.
