A school principal and close friend is remembering Tricia Creasey, the Lexington woman who's story was featured on an “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” show in 2010. The 39-year-old Creasey lost her six-and-a-half-year battle with colon cancer Thursday afternoon.

Randolph County authorities have a woman in custody after finding a man's body at a home in Climax. It happened on Old Red Cross Road Friday evening. Authorities have not released a cause of death, but think his death may be tied to a domestic dispute.

For a third year, dozens of people in need are getting a free trip to the dentist. Implant & General Dentistry held its annual Dentistry from the Heart program Friday. The office in High Point, welcomed around 70 patients for routine cleaning, and fillings or extractions, if necessary.

Winston-Salem police have charged the mother of two children taken to the hospital after a house fire last week. Police say Ebony Mack was not at home when firefighters found the children in the home last Thursday night. Authorities charged Mack with two counts of felony child abuse.

A ban to keep concealed weapons away from some Greensboro parks is moving forward. The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Commission passed the ban Wednesday. Their recommendation now heads to City Council.

Some Guilford County school buses will run on biodiesel this spring. Guilford County plans to test the product on about 50 buses. Officials will monitor vehicle maintenance and costs to learn more about how biodiesel could be used on a large scale.
