GOLDSBORO, N.C. – A Goldsboro police officer was involved in a shooting Monday afternoon.

Authorities say officers were trying to pull a car over near James and Kadis streets when the driver took off and led them on a short chase.

The chase ended on Pearson Street when authorities say the officer shot at the suspect. Both were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The officer was a member of the Selective Enforcement Unit. The SBI was called in to investigate.
