Seymour-Johnson unaffected by proposed Air Force budget plan

By: News 14 Carolina Web Staff

The U.S. Air Force has issued a budget plan that would save the branch about $9 billion in FY 2013 through aircraft retirement and realignments.

The Goldsboro News-Argus reported that the Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base will be unaffected by the plan, but more than 60 Air Force installations in 33 states will be affected.

The budget plan would also cut about 10,000 personnel, from both active-duty and reserves.
