PANTEGO, N.C. – Highway patrol troopers say 52-year-old Mario Morales-Lopez died when he drove his Jeep off Morning Star Road, just north of Pantego just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Four other people were in the car. They were all taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Troopers say Morales missed a sharp curve. His car went off the road, flipped and caught fire. Initial investigations show alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
