Smith said Tuesday that no final decision has been made, but with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, the thought of the race leaving the speedway made many nervous.

State Senate releases $21 billion budget plan

NCDOT to present results of study on I-95 tolls in series of public meetings

The public will get a chance Monday to hear more about a plan that could bring tolls to Interstate 95. The state Department of Transportation says the tolls are needed to back the cost of upgrades. So over the last six months, DOT officials have been conducting an economic assessment study.
