Party benefits needy children in Zimbabwe

RALEIGH -- Good food, African wine and beautiful photography will help dozens of children and orphans in Africa.

Zely & Ritz, an organic Tapas restaurant in Raleigh, played host to an African wine tasting party and photo exhibit Wednesday night.

All of the proceeds will go to Dare to Share, a charity that helps provide food and schooling to needy children in Zimbabwe.

The photos are the work of Jamie DeMent, who's traveled to Africa.

“It's a great charity,” Dement said. “It really is time for us to help the people of Zimbabwe. As Americans, we're very lucky. We have a social system that is in place. If we want help, we can get it. That doesn't exist in Zimbabwe."

Zely & Ritz will host its 2nd Annual African Wine Dinner to help Dare to Share on March 14th during a sit-down wine dinner.
