RALEIGH — People around the world are celebrating life after cancer.
June 2 was National Cancer Survivors Day. Rex Cancer Center in Raleigh hosted an event that brought together survivors, their families and friends.
Survivors say the fellowship and support make all the difference.
"It's a wonderful day to fellowship with other survivors to see so many people who have survived for so long it is such a celebration and a blessing to be among all of these survivors," said Phyllis Stephenson who has been cancer free for nineteen years.
This was the 24th year the center hosted the event.
