FAYETTEVILLE--Family and friends of a missing Fort Bragg soldier gathered Saturday.

Kelli Bordeaux was last seen leaving Froggy Bottoms Bar in northern Fayetteville around 2:00 a.m. on April 14.

Members of her family, along with local organizers of weekly searches for Kelli hosted a butterfly release at Hotrodz in Fayetteville.

Bordeaux's sister said she chose butterflies because Kelli released some at her own wedding and she found them uplifting.

"So then I started researching butterflies, and when I saw that they signified survivalship, and then you get to set them free, like the freedom that Kelli deserves, it couldn't have been more perfect," said Olivia Cox, Bordeaux's sister.

Around the same time Bordeaux went missing, Cox had just learned some news of her own.
"That Tuesday I was here in Fayetteville looking for Kelli and found out I was pregnant that Friday while I was here," said Cox.

A few weeks ago, their older brother had his first child, and Cox tried to share that news too.

"I texted Kelli's phone to tell her that she was an aunt again, because I have a son, and he thinks she hung the moon," said Cox.

Even though police still have no leads in her disappearance, Bordeaux's family and community have not given up hope.

"She's still missing and until she comes home we're not gonna go away because closure can't be found until Kelli's found," said Cox.
